I really enjoy cacti and the forms created as they make their way in the harsh climate of the Karoo. Their fruits echo their form. This is my personal interpretation of this wonderful plant and I have used multiple glazes to give the form movement and express the vitality of the plant.

Catherine is constantly inspired by the natural forms she sees all around her – seed pods, succulents, Fynbos flowers, cacti and sea urchins, these are the sources for much of her creativity. By combining her skills at sculptural work and the use of multiple glazes, Catherine reinterprets natural forms to create beautiful ceramic art pieces.
