The title pays homage to Vermeer’s iconic painting ‘Girl with the Pearl Earring’ . But, unlike her Dutch counterpart who wears a simple turban, the Girl with the Peacock Earring reflects her tribal roots with a highly decorative headdress of  roses, hibiscus and succulents. In the company of  birds, butterflies and a lone chameleon she wanders through a rolling African landscape.
